importing .ost mail from a previous configuration

I have a new Outlook mailbox and need to import mail from a previous Outlook
mailbox that is no longer active. I see my .ost file, but I'm not sure how to
import that mail to my new mailbox.

YOu can't unless you still have a profile for the old mailbox and can start
it to work offline. An .ost file is tied to a particular mailbox. You should
have exported from the old mailbox to a .pst file.

There are tools to convert an .ost to a .pst file -- search for OST2PST, for
example -- but don't expect them to be free.
