Hi all
I'm trying to figure out, if I could prepare a simple resource management
database combining Access and Outlook 2007. I was thinking that I would have
front end solution where employees would
- import all their calendar entries from Outlook
- add information to each record such as which Project it is involved with
- and then send it to a backend database, which is on our server.
The challenge at the moment is that I'm unable to find the correct data in
Outlook. I'm trying to create a linked table by using the External data -->
More --> Outlook Folder
THe only item that even remotely sounds like the Outlook calender is:
Mailbox - "MyName" + Calendar
This however contains only records that follow email message format, not an
Appointment format. For example missing fields include "Start time" and "End
time", which would be crucial in calculating the time used for the activity.
Is this due how the MAPI (whatever it is) is defined and cannot be overcome?
Could I use some other command instead?
