Randall

In MS Project Professional 2003, I have no Enterprise options under the tools
menu.

How do I add it?

Hi,

Enterprise options are only active when you also install Project Server, and
link all projects to it.

what you mean by link all projects.

Right click on a toolbar and pick Customize.
Now on the Commands tab click on Built in menues
At the bottom of the list is "Enterprise Options"
Drag it and hover over the Tools menu
the tools menu will expand
Drop it where you want it

THANK YOU!

I was looking through here and could not find enterprise options!

So enterprise options does not show up in your list of built in menus? Are
you sure you have Professional installed and not Standard? Look at the
Help | About menu. Does it say Professional or Standard?

I am running Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003.

I don't know why the menu option was not there originally.

Thanks!

Brian:
This will allow the Enterprise features toolbar to be created. The
enterprise features are still not enabled.

What would cause the enterprise features to still NOT be enabled?

Thanks much,
Don

Don,

Have you set up Project Server? Have you created the account on the
Project server for yourself?

Please see the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/CreatePMLoginAccount.aspx

If you have any further questions specifically about installing
Project Server or using Microsoft Project Professional with Project
Server, please post your questions to the Project Server newsgroup.
Please also let us know what version (including service pack) you have
installed as both the client (Project Professional) and server
(Project Server).

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for your response. I am running Project Professional SP3 and am
uncertain about the Project Server. I can link from Project to the server
w/o an issue; for example, view a GANTT in Project that resides on the
server.

I stll do not have Enterprise features enabled that would allow me to do
certain things such as save a project as a Enterprise project.

Any other thoughts?

Hello Don,

Without Project Server (not a file server) installed, enterprise
features are not available. Project Server is a separate piece of
software and I imagine if there were a Project Server installed you'd
most likely know about it.

So, what do *you* mean by "save a project as an Enterprise Project"?
What features or process do you want to see?

Julie:
Yes, I do know the project server has been installed and I am able to link
between Project and the Project Server. I know this by testing the
connection and viewing Projects from the server on Project desktop.

Also, I can go to the Project Server on the web and view projects, resources
etc.

The features I want to have enabled are:
Tools
Enterprise Options
Import Projects to Enterprise (there are five options that are not enabled on Project Desktop, Import is only one of them)

The two options that are enables are:
MS Office Project Server Accounts
Restore Enterprise Global

I only want to import projects that are Enterprise in nature to the Server
and do not have this feature enabled.

Thanks much,
Don

Hi Don,

Thanks for the additional information. I am not a project server
person so I would only be guessing at this point -- my understanding
is that the Import Project to Enterprise option should be enabled when
you are connected to Project Server.

As I suggested, try posting your question to the project *server*
newsgroup (microsoft.public.project.server). Please tell them what
version (including service pack) you have installed.

Good luck.

Julie
