In PowerPoint 2003, sound won't play when slide is repeated

I'm trying to create a simple presentation where when a child guesses
the right animal it links to page with that animal on, e.g.a horse,
with sound.
The whole presentation is meant to be continuous but when I return to
that page for a second time the sound (WAV) doesn't play.
Is there any solution for this other than adding in lots of extra
slides?
Thanks for your help!

Instead of linking directly to the slide with the sound, create one custom
show for each sound slide and link to the custom show from the guessing
page. Custom shows are created from Slide Show--> Custom Shows. The
interface is pretty clear, but ask if you have questions.

Once the shows are created, change your links from the slides to the shows.
As you change each link, a check box will become active on the hyperlink
interface that says "Show and Return". Check this box.

Now, when you run the presentation, the sound will play each time one of the
slide is shown.

Two possible choices,

Create a "dummy slide" just before the one you link to so that it resets the
animations (sounds) in the following slides, or write a small VBA add in to
reset the animations.
