I am a consultant who works remotely at various companies. A current client
has me connect my laptop to an SBC/Yahoo outgoing DSL line to access the web
and to use my Outlook email. (I have Windows 2000 installed and Outlook
Professional.)
My defaut email (SMTP) settings from my home office is via comcast.net.
After a 1 hour conference call with a Comcast tech support rep and two
network support staff at the client location, they could not get my laptop to
send outgoing emails, but I can receive emails and cruise the net from
client's offices. From my home and other locations, my email works fine.
Another consultant working at this location also is a comcast subscriber
like me. He has no trouble sending out emails on the same DSL connection.
However, he uses Outlook Express while I use Outlook. Any suggestions?
