I recently had a computer crash. My IT guy restored it and at the same time
I upgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. I lost all of the information
in my inbox anyway to find it?

How did your IT person "restore" it? If he did a format HDD and re-install,
then unless you had, or he took, a backup of ALL your data, then it's gone.
