Includes in active server page

I have a site that uses active server pages that work perfectly. The menu
header and footer are includes. The menu has sub menus that open gracefully
on another part of the current page. All is good UNTIL I publish to another
server or site on the current server where the menu shows the button to the
sub menu but it does not open. There are no error messages. Any ideas as to
why this menu would stop working? I have checked all paths, references, etc
and all appear good. Help....

What type of includes, FP or ASP SSI?

Are your paths absolute or relative? If relative, is parent paths enabled on the site your
publishing to?

We are using FP2003 and I checked IIS (ver 5.0) and it has parent paths
checked. I am new to asp and running menues using includes that reference
txt files so don't really know if the paths are relative or absolute. How
can I check?

You didn't answer the type of Includes you are using.

You may need to switch to ASP SSI, because the ASP pages my be seeing the basic HTML tags the FP
normally hides when including content in other pages or maybe the basic HTML tags have been removed
and this is cause FP to not be able to insert the Include content..

I have now upgraded the server to 2003 Enterprise Ed. and installed IIS 6 and
SSI. The menu will now work to the extent that it opens the sub menu and
those links work. However, when the sub menu is opened (it links to another
folder that contains other active server pages) the 'Home' button link to the
root index.asp file highlights but the reference is to an index.asp file in
the submenu folder not the root and clicking on it gives a 404 error. How do
I get it to refer back to the root?

You will need to use Absolute URLs for all links.
