Including OneNote with Windows Vista

C

Chris H.

You're running Windows Vista on the machine? No wonder you're seeing
issues. It isn't ready for prime time yet. If you're part of the beta,
then post your networking bugs to the proper location.

I don't know how you've got 1.2 GB of RAM on the machine, since the
manufacturer says it only supports a gig, but if you haven't installed the
"memory leak" fix, you should:

It has 1.2GB and to be honest it's not that bad ut it tends to stall quite

The other strange thing though is that with Vista it will on occasion not
see my wireless network at all even though 5 minutes before it did and the
other laptop did.

You see I kind of thought it fitted quite well into the Office pack of
cards, especially as now days they stick Infopath in there which is
not your traditional type of Office product.

As a stand alone for around £80 (straight purchase, no VLA) I would
question its' business advantage above a combination of existing
products.

and my tablet didn't bother having it there on purchase!

You are gonna have a hard time getting the Office Team to do such a
thing. What we should be protesting for is Tablet PC manufacturers to
include a full version of OneNote with Tablet PC purchases.

The C300 can take up to 2GB ram actually. Always check www.crucial.com - far
more accurate than the manufacturer ;-)

Running it on the machine to test it, fully expecting issues - comes with
the territory - just wondered if anyone else had seen this as my other
wireless laptop does not seem to do it with Vista. Also thought this was as
good a place as any to post questions as there seem to be many people here
testing Vista.

Oh and it's a Vista test box - don't think the XP memory fix would apply to
it. When it had XP2005 I had the fix.

According to what I saw on the Acer web site, it said 1 gig. Maybe they
upped it. Vista isn't ready yet, in fact the latest builds released
through the beta or MSDN aren't "beta quality" even.

Oh, and if you're running over 1 gig of RAM, have you applied the
