increment a number for printing

I have a pre-printed form that has two blank spaces that I print the same
number. Then I will increment the number by one and go to the next form, etc.
I do not know how to get that to work automatically. I don’t know if I can do
it in Word or Excel. I am using Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003.
Can anyone help? Thanks, Norm.
