Infected Msgs in Inbox

L

Larry

Running Outlook 2002 with WinXP and Norton Antivirus 2003.
When an infected email message is downloaded to Outlook,
the NAV detects it and says it has been deleted. I click
finish and I notice the message is now in my Outlook
Inbox. If the NAV deleted it, why does it still show up
in the Inbox? Thanks.

Chances are NAV just deleted the attachment, not the actual email.

Thanks Patricia for reply. It also does it with those
infected emails without attachments. You know the ones
that say your email was not delivered or there was an
email failure, etc. So, I don't know!

What is the size of the leftover email?
If I remember right, the overall size (with the virus) was about 148kb.
If the virus was "removed", I would guess the size of the remaining email
should be around 2-6kb.
And, if it wasn't removed, just delete these emails without opening them.

Even those contain a copy of the virus however.
