Initial caps

When a sentence ends in a number Word 2003 will not automatically begin the next sentence with an initial capital. How can one arrange for that to happen? The same dilemma occurs if one uses a number in the outline. The new paragraph will not be automatically capitalized on the initial word.

This behavior was changed in Word 2000 or 2002, and there is no workaround
except to use the Shift key.
