Ink not working

I have just purchased a x41 Tablet and installed Office 2003. I also have
OneNote installed. I can use OneNote just fine with my tablet, but I can't
use the inking in the other Office suite of tools. Does anyone have any
recommendation? Should I uninstall and reinstall Office? I purchased a
tablet so I could work more productivly with documents I am sent everyday.
Please help.
