I'm using ON 2k7 on my tablet laptop, with Vista and 3GB of RAM, to write
lots of math. I know about plenty of math typesetting systems but the goal
here is to allow handwritten math.
I find that after writing about 2 or 3 pages of ink, CPU use for ON goes to
over 50% and inking and erasing becomes unbearably slow.
I have converted all my ink to drawings and the pen is set to produce
drawings only. So no handwriting is involved here.
I have read about this problem in other forums, but no one seems to have a
solution. The workaround seems to be to break my writing up into many
sub-pages, but this is inconvenient from the standpoint of printing.
If I write in the Journal, I can write 10 or more pages without any kind of
slowdown, so I know that the problem is related to ON and not to ink in
general.
I have tried many solutions including: using drawing rather than
handwriting, disabling the indexer, ensuring that I have enough RAM, ensuring
that I am using ON 2k7 with SP1 and not some beta release.
So is this a conformed problem with ON, or does anyone have a solution?
Thanks so much for any help.
