Insert images as link

Hi

I've tried to insert an image from a file, as a link. I need it to stay as link as the document is the same for all images, so I just have to update .jpg in another directory to update images in all my documents. That was the good part
If I edit one document that contained an image inserted like this, as a link, and I update the file while the document is still open, I can reload the new file inside my document via Edit\Links\Update Now, but what this button does is not really update the link, it replaced the link by a field that contains a link, which is very different of what I expected. So now I'm not able to resize this image inside my document (unless I break the link and re-link the image)
How can I update my document while it is still open without loosing the possibility to resize my images

It sounds like you're viewing fields. Hit Alt+F9 to turn off (or on) the
viewing of fields.
