insert mp3 into PPT, slide doesn't always advance automatically

I have created a presentation using Powerpoint 2002 where I have inserted
music (as mp3's). In 'effect options' when I set the music to start playing
'from beginning', the music plays and the slide advances automatically.
However, when I set the music to start playing 'from time xx:xx', the music
plays, but the slide won't advance unless I press 'enter' twice. Any
suggestions on how to make slides automatically advance when I set the music
to start playing from any time other than 'from beginning'?

Thanks.

It worked! Thanks so much for your help.

This is a bug in PPT 2002. You'll need to edit the sound in a sound editor,
as setting its beginning to anything but 00:00 seconds causes the behavior
you're seeing.

Try http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for a good free sound editor.
