Inserted images not showing

On my tablet PC, in Word, when I insert images, I see the outline, but I
cannot see the image, nor can I click on it and manipulate it (size, crop,
move.)

From the Tools menu, select Options and then the View tab and uncheck the
box alongside "Picture Placeholders".
