Inserting a clip

H

Help

I am trying to insert a clip into a presentation and the clip is approximately 40 seconds. It will play when I am creating my presentation, but when I go to play the whole presentation it only plays 6 seconds. I have a friend he does the same steps and inserts a video, same file type and it's over 2 minutes and he can get the whole clip to run. What's the deal?

Does your slide have a transition set for after 6 seconds?

But it sounds like the friend is inserting a different clip, so you might be
right.

Had a user here on this board with a similar issue with a sound file.
Thing is, it stalled out partway through on my machine, too. Turned out the
file had a variable bitrate setting selected when it was rendered.
Wonder if that's a possibility here? Perhaps not, since the same thing
isn't happening on your friend's system, though.

I sent him the same clip I was trying to insert that wouldn't play all the way through and he was able to play it all the way through...

Ah, well in that case, my theory is wrong.

You might do a quick runthrough of the info and tests listed at http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm I'd be interested in how the file plays in mplay32.exe
