Inserting Comments

I have a user that wants to create "color comments" in his documents, but he
wants them to appear *below* his text rather than in a review pane or
balloon. Here is how he presented his question:

=============
"I can add comments in a review pane below the document but what I would
like to do is add the comment directly below the text in color and not in a
review pane or a "balloon". I'd appreciate any help you could offer."
===================

For thelife of me, I cannot figure out how to insert comments in anything
other than the default "balloon"-style. Is it possible to do what he is
requesting? Thanks!

I should add...this is for Word 2003.

He can turn on Track Changes and just type it in where he wants it. Then it
will not officially be a Comment, but a Tracked Change. However, I don't
think it should make that much of a functional difference, unless doing some
sophisticated automation.

Comments and Track Changes are two parts of the Reviewing and Markup
functions in Word.

Send your user here for how to use Tracked Changes--many people don't know.

Tracked Changes can be set to appear either in balloons or in the text.
