Inserting page numbers

J

jqh

I am using powerpoint 2007

I have large powerpoint file and want to add page numbers to the slides.
I've gone to headers and footers and checked page numbers, but all I get is a
dotted square. No numbers.

When I start a new program it works fine; it doesn't work. when trying to
add numbers to an established file.

What have I missed? I'm about to remove office 2007 and reinstall 2003!

Go to the master view and make sure that

- You have slide number placeholders on master and layouts,
- The font color of the number is different from the background color,
- The placeholder is large enough to display the number.

Best regards,
Ute

Maybe go to the master and change the font to get "true" numbers
.... But don't remove 2007 for that single little problem!

Thanks. I went back and everything worked. Don't know what I did wrong, but
my problem is solved. Thanks again.
