Inserting special symbols into English words

I need to insert the small "tick" marks that are above certain letters in French spellings.

The word in question is "Societe" where the mark is above both of the "e"

Any help is appreciated

You mean with an accent like Societé? Check the keystroke shortcut in the
insert symbol dialog.
