Tried to install my MS Office 2000 SW....c/w product
key...but rec'd a message that the key was invalid when I

Hi JWB,

The Message that you had received says that the Product key is invalid. If
you have bought the MS Office 2000 from a retail, you woudl find the
Product key on the back of the pack. That Product key as to be entered so
that you can use Ms OFfice 2000 with your new PC.

If you got MS Office 2000 with your previous PC, the best option would be
to contact the PC manufacturer.

Thank You,

Raghu...

If you Office came with yr sys, as an OEM copy then I'm afraid licence is
tied to origonal sys and is not transferable. - It may even be that the OEM
supplier has configured the install to prevent it installing on anything
other than origonal.
Or it may be simply a question of you entering the wrong key or missreading
it.
