The reason I use Virtual PC is that, yes, it runs different Operating
Systems and Servers. However, it also runs applications with their own space
so there is no bleeding. You can have a VPC session active in the same OS
that your main PC is running, thus making dual booting a thing of the past
for me. Not having to shut down, reboot, fire up the application, shut down
and boot back into the main OS can be a real pain when you are doing news
group posting.
Currently, I have 4 VPC sessions that I can activate from my main Windows XP
installation. I am running the 4 previous versions of Office on them (one
each) and can switch quickly between them to check configuration problems,
answer questions, etc. I have a gig of RAM so running all 4 is not a major
problem.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, DL asked:
| Milly;
| Isnt virtual pc primarily used for running different o/s ? rather than
| different versions of Apps.
| I'm interested in the scenario since having had a current mainstream
| game - my stress reliever - crash my sys for which I was only able to
| recover by doing a complete sys format/reinstall, I was initially
| considering the dual boot option, with a second o/s and games on a
| seperate disk to my raid configured sys 'office stuff'.
| Interested in yr thoughts

| || When you switch between versions, the installer will HAVE to run to
|| get the version of the .dlls for the current application active.
|| There is no workaround. When you switch between versions, this is
|| the downside. That is why I use virtual pc to run different
|| versions of Office.
