Install Word 2000 with Office XP

Mark

I have a new computer with Windows XP Professiional and
Office XP on it. I would like to use my old version of
Word -- Word 2000 -- instead of the Word 2002 that comes
in Office XP. Any advice on how to install Word 2000
without goofing anything up with Office XP (like scanning
for updates, etc.)

If you're wondering why I want to do this, it's because of
the way Comments and Revisions are handled in 2002--it
makes it useless for my purposes.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Mark,

In essence, you should uninstall Office XP, install Office
2000, then reinstall Office XP to make sure everything for
Office XP is registered correctly.

If all you want, really, is Word 2000 you could *probably*
get away with simply installing that with Office XP already
on the machine. Just do a custom install to make sure you're
installing only that. But no guarantees!
