I just purchased Office XP Std. V2002 as an upgrade. I am
currently running Microsoft Office2000 Small Business. My
question is "will the upgrade work when it scans my
software to see if I am running an upgradable
configuration?".
Presumably it will, since Office2k SBE is one of the acceptable products for
the OfficeXP upgrade offer.
By the way, you probably should have purchased the Office 2004 Standard
upgrade instead. It is the same price as Office XP Standard upgrade, and
will upgrade Office2k SBE just as well as Office XP will.
Also, Microsoft Office Upgrade disks will do a "clean" install as well as an
upgrade. All it needs is a previous Office disk to prove your upgrade
eligibility. It is not necessary to have an older version of Office on the
HD. Just put the Office 2kSBE CD in the drive when the install program
can't find a version of Office on the HD. The install program will scan the
disk, and tell you to put the new install disk back in the drive.
