Installer keeps popping up

I have a PC with Windows 2000 (SP2) and Office Pro. Whenever I login to the
PC, it starts the Windows Installer and looks for Microsoft Office 2000
Professional, so I put the CD in and it says the installation package is not
valid for this installation. Ok, so I figure I will just remove Office and
re-install it. I go into Control Panel->Add Remove programs to start the
un-install and it asks for the friggin CD again!!! How the heck am I
supposed to UN-install if it says the package is invalid???

Thanks

Hi Dave,

Windows installer is a pain in the neck.
I'm not sure if this will help your particular problem, but take a look at the
following link.
It involves using the mmc to disable the installer - not ideal, but if it
works...

I have similar though not identical problems with office 2000 Pro on Windows XP
Pro, and finding a solution is not at all easy.
