Installing 2000 with Office 2003

Sara

I just got a new computer and have installed portions of
Office 2003. However, I need to keep using my FrontPage
2000 software. When I tried to install it, my computer
would not let me, telling me it could not find the files
I need. Has anyone dealt with this??? Help would be
GREATLY appreciated!

You should be installing MS application in the order they were created
FP2000, then MSO 2003
What files is it telling you are missing or what are the specific error messages

When attempting to install FP2000, I am able to get
through entering the product key. After that, the error
message surfaces. The message is a "Product Compliance
Check" It says, "Setup failed to locate a valid
qualifying product on your machine. Please select the
drive where a qualifying product can be found." I select
the D: drive, but it cannot find it. MSO2003 was
preinstalled on my machine. Will I need to completely
uninstall it to install FP2000? Or is there some other
way?

You are attempting to install a FP2000 Upgrade from a prior version
- requires the prior version of FP be installed on your PC,
- or you insert the CD from the prior version (FP98 or FP97) and select that drive for the installer to check

MSO 2003 is not a qualifying product for any version of FP
- only prior versions of FP are valid products

It is not an upgrade. That is the first and only version
of FP that I have. I am using the Office 2000 premium
disk.

But the message you are reporting is for Upgrades
Check the Office 2000 premium CD and make sure it does not say Upgrade
Contact MS Support
(installation support for new products should be no charge
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;Prodoffer70&sd=GN#faq1399
