Installing Error

Hi! I get the following sign when I try to Install:

"Error opening installation log. Verify that the
specified log file location exists and is writable."

Does anyone know what this means?

This happens when I try to install any type of MS Office
software. I tried to install legit versions of Office XP
and Office 2000, but both came up with the same messages.
I am currently running Windows XP Home Edition, which was
installed when I got my computer, a Sony Vaio, if this
has any impact on why this is happening. Thank you.
