Installing Office 2000 Standard Upgrade

I bought a new computer and want to install my Office 2000 software. The
upgrade disk says that Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 is eligible for the
upgrade. This computer has a later version of Internet Explorer. Does that
mean that there is no way I can install Office 2000 Standard Upgrade to this
new computer? If there is a way to install it, please advise how to do so.

Are you sure IE5 was a qualifying product for upgrade to Office 2000?
Assuming you are right, then I suggest download the full version of IE5
from this link below and put/burn it on a CD. When you are prompted to
insert the Qualifying product CD, insert this IE5 CD and when it has
finished verifying it, remove it and re-insert your Office 2000 CD and
carry on from there.

Alternatively, you may need to find old Works CD (I think version 5 and
before) for the qualifying product.

You don't have to install these qualifying products; They just need to
made available at the time of installation of an upgrade product.
