Installing Office 2003 and Keeping Old E-mails and Dox

Adam

The installation instructions leave much to be desired for novices like me.
I am currently running Word 2000 and Outlook Express 6. I am preparing to
install Office 2003, but want to make sure that my saved Word dox AND my
e-mails (even deleted/sent, etc.) get saved and imported into the new Word
and Outlook. Do I need to save the old e-mails in a new .pst file, and the
same with the Word dox, or when I install the new program, will it
automatically just uninstall the application and keep my old dox and e-mails
and import them? Same goes for the settings (like the connection to verizon
for e-mail, etc.). Thanks for any tips.

Data files, eg word.doc's are not changed by an upgrade
You simply, as before, open them in Word as req,
Likewise your email files, if you were using Outlook Express are not
changed.
Outlook is a completely different program to Outlook Express.
Outlook Express will remain on your PC.
If you want to use Outook you will have to set it up, with an email
Account(s) using the settings info from your ISP, eg pop & smtp settings.
With Outlook set up you can Export your mail store from Express to Outlook
