Installing Office 2003 Professional on new computer

C

chezphyl

I purchased a new laptop with a 60-day trial version of Office 2003. I'm
attempting to load Office 2003 Professional which I purchased. Do I need to
remove the 60-day trial version before installing my 2003 Professional.
Thanks for your assistance.

You should uninstall the trial version first.

Why? It's the SAME software - just activate it with the new key (
think....or something similar....)

Hi Gordon,

If both the trial and the purchased copy of Office 2003 are Professional editions, which they're often not on a new PC, then you may
choose to go that route, but down the road that can bite you as not all of the images put on new PCs by the OEM do a really good job
of installing the apps.

A clean installation after removing the trial product seems to be a less troublesome route in the long run.

Hi Chezphyl,

If you purchased Office 2003 Retail products after 25Oct2006 be sure to check the 2007 Office System Technology Guarantee page to
see if you qualify for a no cost/low cost upgrade to the 2007 product when it's available next year.
