I recently purchased a new HP m8120n desktop PC with VISTA pre-installed. I
attmepted to install my Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 [via disc]
and get an error message on install. I have not downloaded/installed the
Service Pac 2 for Office Professional 2003. I do have a 30 or 60 day 'Trial'
of Office 2007 pre-intalled by HP, which i have not yet activated.
The error message says something regarding 'elevation'
Please assit.

DL I used CONTROL PANEL to go to PROGRAMS and from there I uninstalled the
Trial Version of Office 2007 and the Activation Assistant for Office 2007. I
still cannot install my Office 2003 Professional. I get a yellow 'caution'
sign 'Error executing file' header with the following error message:

F:\Office\Office11 - Disc 1 - Professional\SETUP.EXE
The requested operation requires elevation.
This is the same error message I rcv'd before I uninstalled the 'Trial
Version'

hanes28, I have same problem, except I do not have the trial program. Did you
ever find a solution?

BobI.. I feel a little silly asking this, what point (where) would I do that
entry? I didn't find anyplace on the CD to do it, and I tried doing it from
Run and it wouldn't work.

Ok, I figured it out! Thanks for the clues Bob. Incase anyone else has the
same problem, here is what I did... Under User Accounts in the control panel,
click on Turn User Account Control On or Off.. Then I unchecked the Use User
Account Control to help protect your computer. After restarting the computer
I was able to install Office. :)
