Hello.

Trying to install OFFICE pro 2003, I got the following message:
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file
exists and is writable."

what should I do?

thanx,

I'm having the same problem. We have a custom install that runs from a .lnk
(which points to an .ini file) and it won't install with xpSP2. The install
works like a charm from computers that don't have SP2 on them. We would like
to start deploying SP2 but things like this will make it difficult. I would
like to know if anyone has a workaround for the same problem as nevo is
having.
Thanks,
Gillett

well, the problem was with the windows xp installation: when upgrading from
windows2000, i defined only a regular member account, without redefining the
administrator account.
it is so happens that the log file can be accessed only through the
administrator account, and only then the office xp installation succeeded.
what bothers me is why those people in microsoft didn't give their hand when
they could and should. :-(

So what is the solution? I am having a similar issue with Office XP
installing in a Windows XP sp2 environment. However, my account is setup as
a adminstrator. I cannot find a log file anywhere on the pc.
