Installing Office on another computer

P

Peter Maddern

I'd like to install MS Office 2003 on a second computer (my laptop) at home.
But my laptop isn't connected to the internet yet. Is it correct that I can
insatall Office on a 2nd PC but it needs to be activated via the web?

Hi Peter,

If it's an OEM copy (came with the PC) it's a single
machine install. If it's a retail copy then you
can install on the 2nd computer and use the telephone
activation method if you're not online with that machine.

It is an OEM copy. Can I completely remove it from the PC it's on and install
it on another one?

Hi Peter,

Generally, no. OEM copies are usually tied to the
first computer they're activated on. You'll find
a copy of the license agreement through the Help
menu in your Office apps.
