Installing outlook on a new computer

R

Ross

I'd like to know how I can move my folders/e-mail from my
current installation on my hardrive on my current
computer to a new computer (different and standalone)
that I will be using. I can't seem to find the e-mail
files for outlook to copy or send.

Thanks

Step 1: Search for all the .pst files on your old computer and copy them to the new one.

Step 2: Import Personal Folders (.pst) File Data in Outlook .

No, do NOT import. Use File->Open. Importing is for converting files to
the .pst format.

On the new machine, find and delete the .pst file that was created when you
installed Outlook. Then, open Outlook, and when it whines, point it to the
..pst file that you copied to the new machine.

This method retains vital information, such as received dates, connections
between contacts and journal, custom forms, etc. Importing will lose all of
this data.
