Installing PowerPoint 2002

In trying to install PP2002 an error message pops up that
says, "Setup failed to locate a qualifying product on
your machine. Please select the drive where one can be
located."

I bought this CD new from a retailer and it has the key
code and is not an upgrade type product. Can anyone
help?!

If the box doesn't say upgrade anywhere, I would take it back to the retailer.
But look closely. The upgrade will also have a key code, so that isn't a true
indicator. Your box should indicate what it contains.
