Installing Powerpoint on Windows Office XP

I have Office XPSmall Business. It comes without powerpoint. I went to
install powerpoint from my office 2000 and rather than installing only
powerpoint (which is all I want from office 2000) it installed the complete
office 2000.

Here's my question. I'm trying to remove everything from office 2000 except
powerpoint. When I chose add or remove programs from the opening screen, it
is onlly letting me install, not remove. How do I remove the parts of 2000
that I don't want. Again, I want to use Office XP Small Business as my
office program.

Sorry for the long drawn out question. Can anyone help me?

When you choose Add/Remove programs, then choose Add, and deselect the
various programs you want to uninstall. I know, it's not very intuitive at
all.

It did not have boxes with a choice of deselecting. So I removed the
complete office 2000 and tried to reinstall only powerpoint again. Again, it
would not allow me the option of only chosing to install powerpoint. I must
be missing something. Can you offer more information? THank you.

When you do the reinstall, choose Custom Install. That should let you choose
which applications you want.

Hi Harvey,

If you're using the 'Change' choice on Microsoft Office 2000
Small Business Edition from Add/Remove Programs
in the Windows control panel you should then see a choice to
Add/Remove features.

If not, you may want to uninstall, restart the PC then install
using the 'custom' choice. You may need to then do a repair/reinstall
of Office XP as well after that.
