Installing PS2007 by Replacing the old Trial Version / Steps

I previously installed PS2007 and used a Trial 180-Day Product Key.

The trial period has expired, and now I seem to have a problem in moving to
a full licensed version despite having now a licensed activation key!

I will explain what I did so far:

- I backed up the 9 SQL Server databases related to PS2007
- I removed the current installation of the 180-days PS2007 from the Win2003
server as it turned out that there is no way to activate PS2007 trial
edition without uninstalling it.
- I started installing PS2007 again, and entered the licensed activation
(Product key), but unfortunately, I am not sure what options should I choose
at installation in order to link this new PS2007 with the old PS2007 data. As
for every option I choose, I don't get asked by the installation Wizard about
the currently installed SQL Server 2005 and the old databases?

Please help? I don't want to loose my old PS2007 data.........!

Note: I read the articles in:
http://blogs.msdn.com/brismith/archive/2007/10/24/backup-and-restore-what-are-the-options.aspx
and
http://blogs.msdn.com/project/archive/2006/12/08/backup-and-restore-project-server-2007.aspx

but still don't know what to do!!!???

Kindly, please help...

In fact I have already passed this stage because I already removed PS2007
based on MS support's advise in order to reinstall it again with the licensed
key and then re-link it to the existing database.

After a painful 2-days, I finally managed to get it working :))

Here is the method:

- Remove PS2007
- Restart the Server
- Install PS2007 once again on the same server

-- When asked about the key, use the licensed key
you acquired from Microsoft.

-- When asked about the installation option, use the following option:
Advanced > Complete-Full (Web farm... etc)

-- At some stage, the installation wizard will ask you to provide
information about the current SQL Server 2005;
You provide the server name, then you select the existing
STS_Config database from the list
(Assuming that you already have it, otherwise you need to
have previously restored it with all other PS2007 databases)

- When installation is finished, the SharePoint Central Administration will
automatically start
- When inside the SharePoint Central Administration follow the guiding list
and make sure that the "Windows SharePoint Services Web Application"
Service is started from "Operations > Services on Server"

Note:
If afterwards you encounter a problem related to not being able to open
SharePoint Central Administration home page, then simply run the
"SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard" from
"Control Panel > Administrative Tools" and follow up the wizard
using its default settings

All PS2007 stuff should be restored perfectly all right afterwards

I must say the above experience was very frustrating.... but as usual
we learn the hard way :))
