It's possible that it's a Vista or Media Player rather than Office issue.
I'm able to play all of the 19 sounds (many with 'zero' length in Nero Showtime, Windows Media Player and Irfanview as well as when
inserted into a Powerpoint 2007 slide. In Irfanview, for example, the shortest actual length is 0.1 seconds for click.wav and
arrow.wav while Media Player reports them as 00:00. You may want to check to see what result you get with Irfanview,

PP 2007 seems to play a couple which have properties "length" greater than zero. The audio files with property "length" = 0 don't
play.
It's a hunch that this is the problem. There are a couple of posts on this subject in the net.
