invalid product keys

I need help! I have brought a new pc with Vista already installed. When
trying to access Office Word I was asked for a product key. I found the key
on the side of my pc tower and typed in the key - but a message told me it
was invalid and to check and try again. I did this twice but the same message
appeared every time. Why is this happening on a new system? I've only had
this pc 3 weeks!
All the trouble shooting i've been through says I need to purchance a new
one but I don't think i should have to on a new pc. Help!

The product key on the side of your PC tower is for Windows, not for
Office. You probably got a free trial version of Office with your new
computer like I did with mine... in my case the product key for the
Office 2007 trial version was printed on a small (2 or 3 inches square?)
piece of paper buried in the documentation that came with the computer.

The key you are using is for Windows not Office. The product key for Office
should be on the CD case or on the documentations that was provided with
your computer. Not sure about product keys if you have a trial version.
