I'm trying to connect to an SQL database from Frontpage in my
sharepoint site.
SO I set up the datasource in the catalogue to show all the fields of a
particular table but whenever I click "Show Data" I get two errors:
"the datasource does not contain valid XML data."
and
"Invalid Unicode Character"
I think I know the problem is that there is empty cells in the database
and its these that its struggling with so I add the Filter to filter
for one I know all the fields are filled in and it works and I can add
it to my WSS site.
If then I remove the filter from that webpart and go to the site the
page loads with all the data and all the blank data shows as "" which
is absolutly fine.
But why isn't it showing up in frontpage? I'm trying to add in a URL
parameter to filter for that but its very hard to do when i can't
access the data unless I filter it.
Another thing I've noticed is that in the "Value" column in the filter
the Sharepoint book I have that shows it setting up a data connection
they have a lot of values to choose from...I have to type in
everything....is this connected?
Any help would be appreciated as I've been trying to fix this for a
long time and I'm at the end of my tether.
Thanks in advance
