Inverted commas

Halfway through working on a new book, Word has suddeny decided to stop
giving me the old style "curled" single and double inverted commas, and
insert straight line versions instead. Although I have set up macros which
give me curled versions via "insert-symbol", this is a bit of a chore, and
I'd like to get back to the curled commas from normal keystrokes. Advice
would be welcome.

In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type |
check the "Straight quotes with smart quotes" box | OK.
