Hello, I have added a counter to my page (that ok), now I want to make it so
that my visitors can't see it, only I can access the counter. In my case the
counter number is sensable data that I do not want people to see, however I
want to be able to know how many hit i've gotten. Can anyone give me
directions on how to get this to work?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

Why not? I just want a counter that no one else will see and I don't want any
display of any sort on my page.

From addfreestats FAQ's:

Q: How to get an invisible button on my site.
A: AddFreeStats can display an invisible button. To enable this option, you
have to edit your account and click on 'upgrade' in the field 'Invisible
Button Service'.

It costs $75 per year for this.

Or you can hide your statistics from people but you will have a small button
at bottom of page that takes them to a "generic" page. This is free.

Q: When I click the AddFreeStats on the webpages, the statistics are public.
Have I done something wrong? Or is it only because I am the owner of the
account that it's visible for me, but not for anybody else?
A: That should be the reason--YOU can see your stats from your button link
since it'll recognize the cookie on your computer, or it'll ask you to log
in if the cookie has expired, but others should only get sent to the "top by
traffic" page. and can't see your stats without your password. Note:
'Protect your stats by a password' option must be setted on YES (Edit your
account).

I have not found any statistics that were better than this without getting
hit with spyware, spam, and adware.

Note that to have it totaly hidden it cost money, money that I don't have.
There should be a way to do it with plain code, it's just i don't know how.

The link you posted doesn't work it says that the page can't be found.
If you can check the link and post it again that would be great as i think
you have what i'm looking for.

- make sure it hasn't wrapped in your newsreader

There is an article on the MS knowledge base about invisible
hit counters. The basics are you insert the hit counter on
your page and use a transparent gif for the images. What I
would try would be to copy the default page to we'll say
default2 and on there use standard characters for the
counter
