Is Front Page part of any MS Office Suite?

Dreamweaver if you want professional results, and use CSS.

Sounds like a wise idea.

But for right now, I need to start selling some products online and need
to get them out there. The learning curve for DW could take some months.
An
cheaper alternative would be to just get a CSS template and read
about them on the net to learn how to edit them manually without
using a program like Dreamweaver.

Hmm. ok.

I think you need to do some reading on what makes for a good website
and what doesn't. Anyone can learn a program but not everyone can
create an attractive site. You have less than 10 seconds to capture
someone's attention. Most of us have seen sites that are so
gawd-awful ugly that we don't care what the site says.

Do your first layout with pencil and paper then figure out how to do
it with whatever program you decide to use. (I'm a FrontPage user
myself.)

Thanks.

Look guys, if I just wanna start selling some simple single products on my
web pages and make some money ASAP, what about just using a page as simple
as http://www.AerobicSelfDefenseClubsOfAmerica.com/
or
http://www.PlanetaryBillOfRights.org/
?

Someone showed me a Paypal shopping cart product at
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-standard-overview-outside
and they just give you code for items that you plug into the web page.

Then if I want to get fancier later, I can go take the course in
Dreamweaver downtown, but at least I'll be making some money to hold me
over.

Plan?

I understand that Dreamweaver costs hundreds of dollars though.

I see Front Page 2003 for $65.

That sounds like an upgrade price to me. Obviously, you cannot purchase an
upgrade without owning a previous version. Do you have a older version to use
as a qualifying product?

Please be aware that MS has now discontinued FP - 2003 is the end of the
line.

I suppose that is the full extent of your knowledge on CSS. Well done.

In either case...you're not gonna tackle designing a shopping cart
anyway...so find out what kind of shopping cart works with your server
first.

It's early public beta. Try it to try it, but maybe not use it for a
production site...beta is beta.
(It's great btw!)

| That looks interesting. Is it even released yet? Looks like it's not but
| they're letting people try it for free and report back to them. Beta

I thought the same thing but no, that's the going price at Amazon.com. I'm
sure it's due to the new program future release.

Screw you, trollboy. A tool is only as good as its author. All you do is
troll these newsgroups with your bitter bile.

I used to wonder why you would hang out in MS newsgroups to bash MS
products. But, I know you have absolutely no life, no friends, no nothing.

If you can't dispute what I wrote then you're the one trolling. Since
you've never coded anything, based on your response, what can you show
us?

Oh, and I don't bash MS products, except for FP, as I make a lot of
money installing and maintaining MS products for corporations.

Those sites are .. um .. how do I say this politely .. not good business
models. They are just flashy personal amateur pages.

If you are serious about wanting to sell on the WWW, you do need to find
a professional design. Overly bold centered text, justified text, with
an abundance of heavy graphics, will turn almost any buyer away.

Those two sites are very hard to read. I gave up trying to follow
planetarybillofrights long before I ever got to Article 1.

People don't open up a web store and make money "ASAP". It is a rough
business.

Never buy software from eBay! Amazon.com has it for $64 and it's completely
legal.

Please don't laugh too hard. Yes, I know I need some skills and
learning, that's why I'm asking.

Sounds like the right approach to me. :)

You might want to check into GoDaddy. It's inexpensive hosting, and they
offer shopping carts and some easy site setup. That way you could get your
stuff up there and then take your time learning whichever web app you want.

I need to learn how to do professional quality web pages from home.

Is Front Page part of any MS Office Suite?

I was thinking that maybe I could pick it all up at once.

It's included in the Standard edition. I use the Student edition and it's
not part of it not that i would use it anyway.

R

Rob Giordano \(Crash\)

FrontPage is *not* included in Office 2003 (any addition) - you have to buy
it separately.

Can people who can work in Dreamweaver make decent money with it? If so,
it might be worth the investment.

Would you please LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE TELLING YOU?

**NONE** of the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) applications will
fully (or even partially) serve your needs, for two reasons:

1) They introduce bloated, nonessential elements into your HTML code that
might stymie some browsers and cause them to show your pages inaccurately.

2) If you are attempting to make a living writing web pages, the mere
sight of one of these applications' name in the headers of your HTML will
cause potential customers to laugh out loud and find someone else.

The **ONLY** solution is to QUIT IGNORING WHAT WE ARE TELLING YOU AND
LEARN HTML YOURSELF, you lazy bint!

Shee!
