Is Gils Sans MT a standard Windows font?

Is Gil Sans MT a standard Windows font? Why would it not appear on the list
of fonts available - on someone else's computer?

You'll have to check your version of Windows at
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/default.aspx.

It's listed on the other person's computer because it is installed there. Fonts
are installed by many programs and differ between versions of the software.
