The subject says it all really.

If it is possible please could someone give me the steps to do so as it is
really annoying me.

Whoops lol thought this was just general Office 2007 stuff!

It's Office 2007 and I'm all the programs that it appears in (Word,
PowerPoint etc).

It's for all Office miscellaneous stuff (as you now probably have figured
out...)

That said, I don't show the Document Properties pane when I save documents
in Office 2007 (on Vista), on a standalone PC with no server environment. If
I choose to launch it, then I can click the "x" in the upper right to launch
it. It's a manual process.

If you are using Sharepoint to save files to, I believe that document
properties are turned on by default. Is that what you're experiencing? When
you save, does it then pop up a required dialog? What operating system are
you using?

This isn't so much a problem as an annoyance. When I download documents from
my universitys servers and open them, it says that it cannot open the
Document Information Panel, but then proceeds to load it anyway but with
nothing in. I was wondering if you can stop Word or Powerpoint or whatever
trying to open it by default as I don't really care about it and I can't find
any obvious way to disable it.

Ah; those servers may be Sharepoint-based, which can be configured to
require document properties. But without knowing for sure, you might want to
contact someone from the university.
