Is OLE a farce or is it a farce ?

I have a 430 page book of color bmps ready to go,
but I'm working with Publisher 97.

So I thought I'd explore the wonderful world of linking
OLE objects, in order to keep the size of the publisher
file small.

Nothing works as described in the manuals.

Publisher's implementation of OLE is... interesting...

Linking to files also embeds a copy, in case the original is deleted.
This has not been changed (AFAIK) in 2007, but the image compression
makes filesizes more manageable.

.... very interesting ;) ... thanks!

I wonder as to the limit to the size of a pub file loaded with photos.
Will a gigabyte or two of TIFs strain the old workhorse* ?

I think 97 will choke once the filesize hits 2GB. Not 100% certain though.
