WordArt in Publisher 2007

I just upgraded from Publisher 2000 to Publisher 2007 and I just can't figure
out the changes to WordArt...

In Publisher 2000 when I created a new WordArt object, I could select a font
size from the dropdown list or manually type in a specific font size OR I
could select the "best fit" option to have the WordArt fit in my frame. So,
if my frame was large and I selected a small font size, WordArt would just
leave my font size small with a large frame around it. If my frame was small
and I selected a large font size, Publisher would ask me if I wanted to
resize the WordArt frame to fit the font size...but it would always leave my
font size as I selected it.

It doesn't appear that I can do this in Publisher 2007...It always appears
to be in "best fit" mode. If I select a specific font size and type in the
text for my WordArt and then change the size of the WordArt frame, Publisher
keeps adjusting the font size to fit the frame which defeats the purpose of
selecting a font size when I created the WordArt in the first place. Also,
what happened to the "best fit" option and why can't I manually type in a
specific font size instead of choosing the predefined font sizes in the drop
down menu and why doesn't WordArt leave the font size as I selected it?

Also, I'm completely frustrated with how "size" works when I am "Formatting
WordArt." I dont' understand how inches come into play when letters are
measured in font sizes, not in inches...For example, if I chose a 1inch size
for the letter "e" in one WordArt frame and chose a 1inch size for the letter
"y" in another WordArt frame...if I put them side by side, the "e" is
stretched out to fit the 1 inch frame and the "y" is not because it is a
longer letter with the tail of the "y" taking up part of the 1 inch frame and
they look like completely different font sizes even though the "size" for
both is 1 inch. I would prefer NOT to change the font in inches, but then I
can't manually type in exactly what font size I want anymore, I have to
choose on of the predefined sizes.

So...getting to my question(s)...Does someone have answers to the whole font
size thing in WordArt? Is there a tutorial that I'm missing? Is there
something that compares WordArt in Publisher 2000 to WordArt in Publisher
2007 so I can figure out the things I need to do 2007 that I used to be able
to do in 2000?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The concept of the WordArt "frame" was removed in the switch to the new
WordArt in Publisher 2002. If you want to keep the specific font and
size you selected when you created the WordArt, don't resize the
WordArt. If you need a particular background behind your WordArt or a
bounding box, create a rectangle and position it where you want it.
