Is there a conflict between Office XP and Publisher 2000?

J

James Hunt

I am running Office XP Student and Teachers Edition. I
recently installed an older copy of Publisher 2000 on my
machine and I am now getting odd error messages. When I
open outlook I get a script error, and often a windows
installer dialog box appears suddenly and then disappears.
Also Word takes an inordinate amount of time to open, but
it eventually will. Now none of these things happened
prior to the installation. Can somebody give me some
advice? By the way I downloaded and installed the latest
service packs for XP and Service release 2 for Publisher,
and I'm still having the same problem. Thank you for your
time.

There is no issue at all running Publisher 2000 on XP.

Have you got that garbage Norton anti-virus software installed???

FWIW, David, he's not running Pub 2000 *on* (Windows) XP but *with* (Office)
XP.
