Is there a list of MS Office 2007 government installations?

I am looking for a list government agencies that have already installed MS
office 2007. I am being told that almost no government agencies have
installed Office 2007 because of security and backward compatibility issues.

How so? The "security and backward compatibility issues" your source
listed can be found where?

FWIW, the FCC is currently asking for bids on MS Office 2007. I suspect
the bigger issue is checking for incompatibility of the other software
that individual departments are currently using. Say an office is using
Adobe 7. then they would have trouble making PDF forms from Word forms,
so then they would need to upgrade the Adobe to version 8. BUT Adobe is
now at version 9 so then the real issue is the slow conversion, inherent
in government.

The following is part of the email that prompted me to write my original
question:

I have included below some open-source information on MS Office 2007.

This first reference is from Microsoft themselves and outlines “things that
don’t work as expected†and the work-around for each, please note the size
and complexity of the list and both the O&M and to a lesser extent
developmental detail that needs to be applied during development and
implementation.

This second reference again shows added labor to address 1500 different
settings of which 300 are security settings that we will be scrutinizing.

This third reference not only brings to light additional software required
in the SharePoint environment but the more basic XML schema that they are
currently not dealing with in the current binary world.

Basically, the powers-that-be have to ask “do we really want this added
burden on the project?â€

First, the security levels have been increased not decreased, and the
info other than the the KB article appears somewhat dated, November of
2007 and December of 2006?

Thanks for your input - I will pass it on to my management. Also one of the
blogs referenced was written by a German college student.
