Is there any way to add a birthdate to Outlook Contacts without i.

I'd like to create a birthday list that can be sorted by month and not year.
So, I would like to add the bdate without the year. Is there any way to
reformat the birthday entry on the detail page, or do I have to create an
entirely new field?
